Do I need a staging server?
No — Update Guard creates its own disposable test snapshots. If you do run staging, it uses that instead.
Does it also update Shopware itself?
It prepares and validates Shopware core updates (compatibility report, extension readiness) but the core switch stays in your hands.
What if my shop is heavily customized?
The compatibility engine also analyses custom plugins and theme overrides and warns before they break.
